Li Shu is a style of calligraphy which originated in the Han Dynasty (around AD170), found on engravings on stone tablets, where historical events, political developments, achievements etc were recorded. Li Shu is well known for its simplicity, beauty, elegance and strength.
The Tang Dynasty is often considered the golden age of Chinese poetry.
Here, I have selected four poems by three Tang poets (Li Shangyin, Bai Juyi and Zhang Ji from Hubei) and written them in Li Shu style. Enjoy!
